I have spent hours looking at love quotes on
the internet, trying to find one to share on this blog. I realize that there
are just too many to find only one. I never thought there would be so many
different ways to say I love you. Seems like it would be a simple thing right?
Well it isn’t as easy as all that. There are funny ones, really mushy ones,
thoughtful, enlightening, sad, some that are geared to family, children.. and
the list goes on and on.
So on this Valentine’s day, how do you
tell that someone special in your life how you feel? Well, you could spend
hours, as I did, finding the right words to express them, or (and I think this
is the way to go), simply try and say it in your own way. Trust me, even if the words are fumbled and misconstrued,
or it’s long winded and corny, it will have come from you. Your heart, your
feelings, which means more to that someone than anything you find on line or in
a hallmark card.
Of course you also have those that would
like also to express their love with buying that perfect gift (along with that
wonderful card you wrote). There are many choices out there for you, jewelry,
chocolates, my personal favorite – flowers, a night on the town, dinning out, or
a spa treatment. The list goes on and on. So again, you have decisions to make
don’t you? Well, each person has their own likes and preferences, so that is
something you need to figure out on your own.
If you want my advise (well even if you don’t)
here is what I think is a perfect Valentine ’s Day from my honey. The day
should start with a surprise breakfast in bed served on a tray with a single
rose (very romantic), the other 11 roses should be in a vase in the living room
with rose petals around it, so as you come down stairs, again more surprises (and
I do like flowers). Then the day should be spent doing something together.
Depending on the weather, a nice walk in the woods, or mountain with my honey
(and the dog) is always nice. Then maybe
a cozy diner, someplace with a fireplace would be good. Or at home, by the fireplace
is ok too, as long as it has ambiance, quiet music, candle light.. you get the
idea. The rest of the evening, well, it is Valentine’s Day..lol. But it doesn’t
matter what you do, where you go, as long as you spend it with the one you
love, because that is what Valentine ’s Day is all about, being with the one
you love!
So Happy Valentine ’s Day to all our
hopeless romantics out there (like me). I hope you enjoy your day with your
loved one!
